Speech Language Pathologist

Nausheen Khan is the Executive Director of her own practice, Khan Communication Services Inc. Nausheen graduated from McGill University in 1992 with a Master of Science in Communication Disorders. She worked at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto soon after she graduated, and co-authored and presented several journal articles at the Symposium of Fluency Disorders in Munich Germany (1995), and San Francisco, CA (1996). She also developed and presented a bilingual fluency treatment program at the World Conference on Multilingual Communication Disorders in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 1995 Nausheen received her Certificate of Clinical Competency by the American Speech Hearing Association.

Nausheen served as President of the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists from 2010-2011. As President, she advocated for Universal Newborn Hearing Screenings across Alberta. She has served as a member of the FSCD multidisciplinary panel for Disability Services since 2009. Nausheen devotes her time to creating and developing models of service delivery that build capacity in communities across Alberta. She has coordinated a team of speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists in private practice to develop screenings clinics, school-based services, and community-based intervention programs. In 2009 Nausheen received the Innovation in Rehabilitation Practitioner Award by the Alberta Rehabilitation Council.
