If you suspect your child has a delay and needs an assessment, or you already have an assessment and want to schedule treatment services with a speech-language pathologist or an occupational therapist, this service may be right for you. Complete the intake form, and we will contact you to better understand your needs, and provide you with a fee structure.

New! In March 2021 we will begin private ADOS assessments for diagnosing autism spectrum disorders. Our team consists of a speech-language pathologist, a psychologist and an occupational therapist who will work together to complete the assessment, determine a diagnosis, and provide you with a comprehensive report.

Individual Assessment and Treatment Services FAQ's

 

What is the MAPP team?

The Multidisciplinary Assessment and Program Planning (MAPP) team is lead by a clinical psychologist, with support from a speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist. The team is trained in ADOS and can provide an Autism diagnosis.

What is the Infant Toddler program?

The Infant Toddler program provides home based speech and language assessments for children under 2 years of age, who are suspected of having a communication delay or disorder. The speech-language pathologist will come to your home to conduct an in-depth interview, observation and a play session. A debriefing session, report and recommendations will be provided on a subsequent date.

Where does the MAPP team provide services?

The service is either scheduled in our clinic or at a school.

Where does the Infant Toddler Assessment take place?

The toddler assessment is done in the family’s home provided they live in the south and west areas of Edmonton only. We do not service North or North East Edmonton. Alternatively, families can schedule this assessment at our clinic in South Edmonton.

What other assessment services are provided?

The MAPP team generally focuses on an Autism diagnosis. However, individual members of the team (SLP, OT, and Psychologist) can provide a range of other assessments including cognitive, adaptive functioning, academic, emotional/behavioral, speech and language, articulation, speech motor disorders fine and gross motor skills.

What treatment services are offered?

Individual speech and language treatment services, occupational therapy and psychological can be scheduled at our clinic.
